Beginning in July 2008, law firms and Jewish community service organizations were brought together in South Florida to perform a discrete but essential task for many Holocaust survivors: to help them apply for a one-time benefit of 2000 Euros from the German Government. Different from past reparations programs from the German government, this new program awarded tha mount to any survivor who did voluntary work while they were in a ghetto run by the German government during the Holocaust.
